Creating this blog for me is probably a community thing.
With a blog like this, parents might find ideas and tips to finding a tutor. Who knows your next door neighbour or someone in your estate might be the answer to your problems if they are tutors or have the skills to help out with homework, exams or probably has taken up a course like yourself.
I just moved to Carlow and decided to take up a course. I use the Carlow IT Library a lot and i found someone reading the same textbooks like i was. I decided to introduce myself. That instantly started a chain of events. We created a discussion group, got access to other materials i would not have laid my hands on. (forgot to mention i was self studying – can’t afford the school fees and got kids to look after) and met a bunch of reading friends. If you know me, making friends with people who are not driving to school, talking about cooking, babies etc is HUGE and something different. I also found two tutors for my kids from my group who were already running classes for other kids.
This can happen to anyone and everyone. sometimes you do not need to look too far from home. Hope to hear from tutors with valuable lessons, tips or even discoveries. As a community we need you.
